Eligibility Quick Check
Student must have received a passing grade in at least 5 classes during the last preceding semester in which he/she was in attendance. (Note: Spring 2018 for Fall 2018) Incomplete or conditional marks do not count towards 1 of the 5 NEW: Students must also be passing 5 classes on a weekly basis. If they do not meet this eligibility, requirement, they will be ineligible that week and until they are again passing 5 classes. Report is pulled on Mondays by the coaches Power School App (Phone) Any grade changes will send an automatic alert to your phone. Practice / Absent / Curfew
Practice Rule: 10 Regularly Scheduled Practices before you can compete in a game/match Any student who is absent or truant, from any class the day of their activity/game, if not excused, may upon review of the administration forfeit his/her eligibility to compete in or perform in that day’s scheduled school activity events. Curfew Hours Week nights 9:00 pm Weekend nights 11:00 pm

Training Rules All students involved in activities are expected to follow the drug and alcohol rules twenty-four (24) hours a day, every day, during the entire season of practices and contests. Any student who is involved in an activities program shall refrain from entering any establishment/residence whose primary business/purpose is the sale and/or service of alcoholic beverages or controlled chemicals. The penalties for violations of training rules shall apply.

Training Rules Continued…
The student must stay in the activity and practice for the rest of the season but will not travel with the team to out of town games. If the student doesn't complete the season in which the suspension begins, the remaining days of the suspension will continue at the beginning of the next activity in which the student will participate with all other restrictions in place. The coach can suspend the student from practice if they become a problem in practice. The student will also be required to attend an academic drug alcohol course with EMCMHC/CD Program (The student is required to pay for the fee associated with the course, $45).

NEW Training Rules Continuous throughout high school career
1st Offense Drugs/Alcohol (20 school calendar days) Tobacco (10 school calendar days) 10% of scheduled contests/events 2nd Offense Drugs/Alcohol (90 school calendar days) Tobacco (45 school calendar days) 20% of scheduled contests/events 3rd Offense Drugs/Alcohol (Forfeits all further participation in his/her high school activities career.) Tobacco (90 school calendar days) 30% of scheduled contests/events 4th Offense (Tobacco) Forfeits all further participation in his/her high school activities career.

Travel We expect all students to ride on the bus to and from the activity with the activity group. A medical appointment or extenuating circumstance will be the only reason a student would travel to an activity site on his/her own with his/her parent. Likewise, we expect all students to ride home on the bus. If there is an extenuating circumstance, the student should bring a travel release form (GREEN - available online mcpsactivities.com) from the parent. They will be allowed to only travel with their parent. THE REQUEST BY THE STUDENT SHALL BE MADE BEFORE LEAVING ON THE TRIP AND SIGNED BY THE ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR. We do not want coaches to make split second decisions on this policy. Travel release form (Green) is also available in the main office.

24 Hour Rule Student-athlete and the coach
(Teachable Moment) Advocate (No retaliation from coaches…) If you have specific questions or concerns, please schedule a meeting with the coach 24 hours after the date of the competition. The first question that the coach/AD will ask… Did the student-athlete talk with the coach? We are looking for bus drivers!
Conduct on the bus… Students will be reminded that they adhere to all rules governing their conduct while riding an activity bus. The time on the bus should be used to prepare for the competition or activity. Opportunity to study and work on homework. Dress Warm Pick up trash! Brown Bag Lunches (3 Trips) / Meals on the road (Cash with student-athlete if they stop) Thank the bus driver! We are looking for bus drivers!

Activities Dress Code No student will be allowed to participate who dresses or changes his/her appearance in such a way that causes embarrassment to the coach/sponsor of the group, to the school, to the parent, and/or to the community.

Senior Parent Night 30 minutes before the last home game of the year, acknowledge senior athletes parents Small Poster (Hang in the lobby area, tables set up on the east end of the football field) Student-athlete creates a short paragraph to share as they are announced
