Made from weakened viruses Virus cannot cause the disease, can stimulate antibody production Killed-virus Can stimulate antibody production Cannot cause illness Not as strong as live-virus vaccines Toxoids Chemically treating bacteria to release toxins Release stimulates production of antibodies

Common Sense Measures Avoid contact and avoid spreading pathogens
Keep body healthy Bathe and shower Avoid sharing utensils/water bottles Store/prepare food properly Wash hands after bathroom use Keep away from people if sick Avoid people that are sick or take protective measures
