2 Title IV Part A Overview
The Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grant is a flexible block grant, which is a large sum of money granted by the Federal Government to a State Educational Agency with only general provisions as to the way it is to be spent. The SSAE program is intended to improve students’ academic achievement by increasing the capacity of State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), and local communities to provide all students with access to a well-rounded education; improve school conditions for student learning; and improve the use of technology to increase academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.

3 Title IV Part A Allocation Details
Well-Rounded Education Defined: A ‘‘well-rounded education’’ reflects courses, activities, and programming in subjects such as English, reading or language arts, writing, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, arts, history, geography, computer science, music, career and technical education, health, physical education, and any other subject, as determined by the State or local educational agency, with the purpose of providing all students access to an enriched curriculum and educational experience. Allocation Amount - $218,285.47

Safe and Healthy Students Defined: The term ‘‘safe and healthy” refers to a school environment that fosters a safe and supportive environment for learning, student physical and mental health, and any other activities that cut across both those areas as determined by the State or local educational agency, with the purpose of providing all students access a to safe and healthy educational experience. A safe and healthy school environment may be described as a “positive school climate,” and the components of a positive school climate as “conditions for learning.” Allocation Amount - $260,300

Effective Use of Technology Defined: The term “educational technology” has always been defined as using technological efforts to help students achieve academically. Specifically, by promoting digital literacy of all students and providing professional development to the educators that teach and support them. Allocation Amount - $19,000 Title IV Part A Indirect Cost Allocation - $13,285.53 Total Title IV Part A Allocation - $510,871.00

6 Title IV Part A Funding Allocations
Well-Rounded Education: Provide all students with opportunities to successfully complete the FAFSA, classroom libraries to improve student comprehension in K-8, Document Based Question binders for all high schools and resources for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate curriculums. Supporting Safe and Healthy Students: Medical assistance for mandated student needs to and from school; support the transition of students from detention facilities/alternative school settings into the regular school; mentoring support to students, and PBIS coaches to support embedded professional development and team coaching to students; Provide all students with opportunities to successfully complete the FAFSA, classroom libraries to improve student comprehension in K-8, Document Based Question binders to strengthen American History, World History, Geography and Civics for all high schools and resources for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate curriculums. Supporting the Effective Use of Technology: Laptops and portable printers to support the FAFSA online application and provide opportunities for students to complete the process in a timely manner as well as building technological capacity.
