Digital Citizenship: anti-bullying law
In 2008, the state of Washington put in place RCW 28A t known as the “antibullying” law. RCW 28A outlines “harassment, intimidation, and bullying prevention policies and procedures. The most recent version (2011) of the law requires district policies to be posted on a public website and include a cyberbullying and internet safety component.

2.1.1 Practice personal safety
6-12: Practice the safe and responsible sharing of information online. Protect access to passwords and digital accounts. Recognize potential online dangers. Understand privacy issues and how data is archived and publicly available.

2.1.2 Practice ethical and respectful behavior
6-12 Comply with district Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Practice ethical and appropriate use of all media and comply with copyright law. Participate and engage with the global community within expected norms of behavior and positive interaction. Recognize, report and counteract cyber bullying.
