4 Vocabulary Unit 1 TIME B.C.= Before Christ
Dates that occurred before the birth of Jesus. B.C. Dates get smaller as time passes so the larger the number the earlier the date A.D. = Anno Domini = In the year of our Lord Date the occur after Jesus’ death. The larger the number, the later the date.

5 Vocabulary Unit 1 TIME Cont. B.C.E. = Before Common Era
Another way to refer to B.C. Dates C.E. = Common Era Another way to refer to A.D. Dates Era = A long period marked by great events, developments or figures

6 Vocabulary Unit 1 Decade = a period of 10 years
TIME Cont. Decade = a period of 10 years Century = a period of 100 years Millennium = a period of 1,000 years Score = a set of 20 years

Timeline = Linear representation (line) of important events in the order they occurred Prehistory = Human history before recorded events, mainly archaeological research History = Record of past events, people, times, etc.
