Refreshments For several years now we have had companies like Travelers, The Hartford, Prudential, Cigna and Aetna come speak to our club. The purpose of these events are to provide more knowledge on the actuarial field and learn more about the local companies and the opportunities they have to offer. We’d like to provide refreshments at each event which would include pizza, brownies, soda and water. According to Sodexo’s catering webpage: 2 cheese pizzas, 1 veggie, 1 brownie platter and 12 soda/waters = $ $ $ $11.40 = $53.55 For a total of six events = 6* $53.55 = $321.30

Recognition To show our appreciation towards these presenters for taking time out of their work schedules we would like to give each person a travel mug from our CCSU bookstore as a gift. A travel mug cost $15.98 each for six presenters. Total= $95.88

Other: Activities Club members have expressed an interest in participating in social events such as bowling. It is important as a club for our members to get to know each other and do things outside of school. Callahan’s Bowl-O-Rama is only a short distance away and according to their website would cost $18.00 per person. This would include a hour and a half of bowling and shoe rental. We expect to have 15 students to participate in such an event. Total = 15*$18.00 = $270.00

Other: Study Material Actuaries are required to take a series of exams throughout their career and it is recommended to complete two of these exams while in college. To prepare our club member for these exams we’d like to stay up to date with the material and purchase two manuals. These manuals can be found on the Actuarial Bookstore for $162 each. Total = 2* $162 = $324.00

Conference Fees Every year the Society of Actuaries host a conference for actuarial candidates to provide information, inspiration and networking opportunities. The goal of this conference is for students to gain knowledge of the actuarial profession, learn about the qualities employers are looking for, and to build a professional network. Registration fee is $25 per student and we expect 10 students to attend this conference. Total= 10* $25.00 = $250.00
