Introduction Elderly population is the fastest growing population in the world. The elderly are increasing in Iran, too. Based on the 2006 census, 7 million people are over 60 years in Iran. Ageing is accompanied with diminishing physical and mental capacities in daily life and incidence of chronic disease. Diet and lifestyle influence morbidity and mortality during the course of life. … Introduction longevity or healthy outcomes are associated with a healthy lifestyle, four modifiable healthy lifestyle factors (healthy diet, nonsmoking, normal weight, and regular physical activity) can significantly reduce premature mortality. attention to lifestyle of elder can help them get used to their lives and maintain their life satisfaction. Sample Size& Study Population
Elderly (aged 60 and over) referred to Islamshahr Health Center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2012–2013. A sample size with a confidence interval (CI) of 0.95, power of 0.8 and considering 20% sample size reduction, determined 480 elderly. Zanjani 6/2/2019

Sampling Random clustering sampling method was applied based on the number of under coverage population that is, the more populous health centers, the more selected subjects. Zanjani 6/2/2019

Data Collection Instruments
Questionnaire Two-part questionnaire: socio demographic such as age, gender, level of education, living with spouse or family; and health- related characteristics, e.g., body mass index (BMI), history, type and frequency of chronic disease; Standard healthy lifestyle instrument: a 46 items self-report standard instrument with five subscales reflecting domains including exercise (5 items), nutrition (14 items), prevention (15 items), stress management (5 items) and social relationship (7 items). Analyze The obtained data was analyzed by SPSS 18 software
Using Independent t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Chi- square test and ordinal logistic regression test to compare mean scores at a significant level of P≤0.05. Zanjani 6/2/2019

… Findings Mean score of total healthy lifestyle was 148.56±11.5.
Men and women scored ±11.15 and 145±10.32, respectively (P<0.001). 366 participants had moderate healthy lifestyle and 114 had desirable healthy lifestyle. None of the elderly had undesirable lifestyle. Marital status and gender were important factors in elderly healthy lifestyle. Zanjani 6/2/2019

… Findings With increasing age, the average score in exercise domain decreases. Men in the prevention, exercise and social relations domains were obtained significantly higher scores. The elderly who were living without a spouse, total healthy lifestyle and social relations domain scores were less than others . Zanjani 6/2/2019

Conclusion A variation in health behaviors exist between men and women. Marital status had great impact in achieving the desired lifestyle between elderly. Most the elderly had moderate score of lifestyle, Affecting factors in lifestyle and its domains, should be as an important educational priority for elderly. Zanjani 6/2/2019
