Goals for this week:
Math
We will use flexible strategies to add and subtract up to 4 two-digit numbers.
I will justify my strategy choice orally and in writing.
Reading
We will read at a just-right pace.
I will check my pace so that I am reading fluently.
Writing
We will use a checklist to set goals
We will write several opinions in a single letter by jotting notes at the top of each page
I will write about more than one part of a book.
Science
We will learn how objects in the sky, such as the sun and moon, appear to change at different times.
I will observe, describe, and record patterns of objects in the sky.
Social Studies
We will identify contributions of Paul Revere.
I will write an opinion letter about Paul Revere.
Word Work
We will decode words with /oa/, /ow/, and /oe/spelling patterns.
I will spell words with/oa/, /ow/, and /oe/ spelling patterns.
*Please continue to practice cursive writing at home! We have covered most of the lowercase alphabet and students are excited to write words in cursive!
Important Dates:

STEAM Field Trip (students need a sack lunch, red field trip shirt, sneakers)
January 25th
$1 PJ Day for Kids Against Hunger!
February 6th
Heritage Night 6:30 – 8pm (cafeteria)

Reminders
Homework: Read every night for 20 mins.
With the weather cooling down, please be sure that your child brings a jacket/coat daily (with his/her name in it)!
