1 Systemic vascular resistance has an impact on the reliability of the Vigileo-FloTrac system in measuring cardiac output and tracking cardiac output changes  K Suehiro, K Tanaka, T Funao, T Matsuura, T Mori, K Nishikawa  British Journal of Anaesthesia  Volume 111, Issue 2, Pages (August 2013) DOI: /bja/aet022 Copyright © 2013 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions

2 Fig 1 Bland–Altman plots for the bias between ICO and APCO. (a) Data under the low SVRI state. (b) Data under the normal SVRI state. (c) Data under the high SVRI state. ICO, cardiac output measured using intermittent thermodilution; APCO, cardiac output measured using the Vigileo-FloTrac system British Journal of Anaesthesia  , DOI: ( /bja/aet022) Copyright © 2013 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions

3 Fig 2 The four-quadrant plots and polar plots to examine the trending abilities of APCO against ICO. (a) Data under the low SVRI state. (b) Data under the normal SVRI state. (c) Data under the high SVRI state. The concordance rate was defined as the percentage of the number of data points that are in two of the four quadrants of agreement (upper right and lower left). The concordance rate was good when it was over 92%. We excluded data when the percentage increase in cardiac output was below 10% (exclusion zone). ICO, cardiac output measured using intermittent thermodilution; APCO, cardiac output measured using the Vigileo-FloTrac system. 4 Fig 3 The polar plots to examine the trending abilities of APCO against ICO. (a) Data under the low SVRI state. (b) Data under the normal SVRI state. (c) Data under the high SVRI state. In the polar plot analysis, an agreement between the two methods is shown by the angle from the axis (0°). The acceptance limits in the polar plot analysis were (i) an angular bias (the average angle between all polar axes and polar data points) of less than ±5°, (ii) radial limits of agreement (the radial sector containing 95% of the data points) of less than ±30°, and (iii) angular concordance rate (the percentage of points in the 30° radial zone) of more than 95%. ICO, cardiac output measured using intermittent thermodilution; APCO, cardiac output measured using the Vigileo-FloTrac system.
