Fair Test? What color of car gets more tickets? 1. Julian drove all the cars on the same road at the same speed. They were all different colors. 4 cars were Ford Focus and 1 car was a Ford Mustang. Is this a fair test AND why? How could you make it a fair test? 2. Valerie drove all the cars on the same road at the same speed. They were all different colors. All the cars were Chevy Camaros. Is this a fair test AND why? Karina drove all the cars on the same road. She drove the red car 5 mph faster than the others. They were all different colors. All the cars were Dodge Challengers. 1. What is a variable that Julian can change to try to make the perfect cookie? HSE Julian wants to bake the perfect chocolate chip cookie. He is going to change his recipe until he bakes the perfect cookie! Temperature of oven Time to bake Size of the cookie How can he plan an investigation to answer his question, How can I make the perfect chocolate chip cookie? Change amount of ONE ingredient Why can he ONLY change one variable? Fair Test? How can I make the perfect chocolate chip cookie? 1. Julian added 3 eggs instead of 2 eggs. All other ingredients were the same. He baked the cookies at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Starting recipe for okay cookies Julian added just 1 egg instead of 2 eggs. Other ingredients were the same. He baked the cookies at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. How could you make it a fair test? 3. Julian added 2 tsp’s of vanilla instead of 1 tsp. He also added 2 cups of sugar instead of 1. He baked the cookies at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
