SA Health Car Park Reform
2
Project Implementation Guiding Principles >Minimise impact to staff, patients and families >Ensure proactive engagement with key stakeholders at affected sites >Maximise usage of boom gates to ensure that patients and visitors are not adversely impacted >Ensure that emergency access and facility support features are maintained >Maintain the flow of traffic around the sites >Ensure that charged staff have access to parking spaces >Review staff security arrangements >Develop a fully integrated system to support flexibility around staff movements across sites
3
>The proposed car parking reforms announced as part of the 2010-11 Budget included the implementation of charged parking at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Modbury Hospital, Repatriation General Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, Glenside Hospital and St Margarets Hospital. >All sites were initially assessed in terms of their respective complexity regarding implementation of revised arrangements. >Specific focus is on those sites where implementation in 2010 - 2011 present the least logistical challenges excluding: Glenside Hospital which is undergoing considerable change with major infrastructure works occurring. The Repatriation General Hospital, due to its dispersed car parks and multiple access points presents unique challenges.
