3. For data delivery two transfer features are available at the moment :
The Electronic Data files Administration and Management Information System (EDAMIS) is the integrated environment for data transmissions between Eurostat and the Member States

Underlying hardware infrastructure distributed over locations in EC datacentre (DIGIT) and ESTAT premises
Server and network hardware infrastructure is redundant implemented, i.e. in case of problems in one component the process service is not stopped

6. EDAMIS data transfer infrastructure
Delivery tool EWA (status)
In all National Statistical Institutes, the ECB, OECD and some Central Banks the EDAMIS client EWA is installed.
The actual version of EWA is The implemented versions are :
42 x version or higher (last year 20)
1 x version 2.9.9b (last year 7)
no version to (last year 12)
The goal to migrate the EWA in 2015 to a higher version is achieved.

At the moment the transfer protocols used in the EWA are :
HTTP over Internet used by 23 EWA
FTP over Internet used by 15 EWA
FTP over sTESTA used by 5 EWA
Transfer protocol HTTP via Internet
Change of destination URL
Old address webgate.ec.euroa.eu
New address statelgw.tech.ec.europa.eu
Easy to modify in the configuration menu of EWA / Statel
Change should be realised end of 1st quarter 2016

Transfer protocol FTP via Internet
Stop of transfer protocol FTP because of security constraints
Switch to protocol HTTP in all Windows EWA. There will be no problem as both protocols are available
Unix / Linux EWA will be changed later as the Statel client has to be replaced
Change should be realised end of 1st quarter 2016

For the EWA connected via sTESTA to the EC network there is no change

Delivery tool EWP (status)
All EDAMIS users with corresponding rights can send data via the user interface. Three features are available:
Send Datafile (advanced) - encrypted data delivery via https
Send Datafile (simple) - normal data delivery via https
WebForm - special delivery feature via https
In some institutions the use of the feature "Send Datafile (advanced)" is not possible because of internal security policies. They have to delivery data via the second feature which has a lower security level

New upload feature
better performance and possibility to send big files (>100 MB)
enhanced proxy management in order to avoid network security problems in Member States
is in final test phase / Transmission Coordinators are welcome to test the feature
will be operational 4th quarter 2015
New EDAMIS Web Form tool
new version of EDAMIS Web Forms (EWF) has been developed
several modifications / changes like to allow DMA/COR to create EWF entries on behalf of countries, improve to build form templates based on SDMX / DSDs, etc.
new EWF is / will be tested
date when it becomes operational is open
