All academic and research units on all campuses are invited to participate in Research Week the week of April 1, 2019, to celebrate the high caliber of research activity done in all disciplines across the university.

Current Schedule: April 1: Fulbright Day
—Keynote Luncheon to recognize/reunite WVU Fulbrights; —Informational workshops for interested students, faculty, staff, and HSC; Academic Media Day on Climate Change April 2: National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Campus Visit April 3: Long-Form Scholarship Celebration Research Support Showcase (Tentative) April 4: OGEL 3-Minute Thesis Competition (Confirmed) April 5: Campus-Wide Research Celebration (Tentative) Presentation of Research Awards (Tentative)

Proposed PR Webpage on Provost’s site which will publish:
Full week’s event calendar Award recipients (including recipients of research awards in our usual cycle, such as Benedum and Caveney) Research Spotlight profiles (in the style of Meet the Graduates) of faculty, staff, and student researchers ENEWS and relevant listserv announcements of all public events and awards Media pitches for any/all appropriate events

To consider for participation
Annual, sustainable events in your unit that can be rebranded to be a part of Research Week New, research-focused events you’d like to try Awards ceremonies for outstanding research faculty, students and/or staff Recognition events for researchers at all levels Discipline-specific and appropriate competitions for students at all levels

Caveats . . . (otherwise known as “What not to do”)
Anything that will put undue pressure on anyone in your unit or our units – we know we are all super busy. Even if it’s a great idea, save it for next year’s Research Week and get started early!
