ERA-Net Aquatic Pollutants
Research Call, Year: 2020 ERA-Net Aquatic Pollutants To fill existing key knowledge gaps regarding the environmental behaviour of new and emerging pollutants as well as pathogens in inland waters and the marine environment, and their impacts on ecosystems and human health Collaboration of the three JPIs on Water, Oceans and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) The AquaticPollutants proposal responds to the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Societal Challenge 5: Risks posed to human health and the environment by pollutants and pathogens present in water resources No of funders = 32 No. countries participating = 24 No. JPIAMR countries participating = 18
9
ERA-Net Transmission/Interventions
Research Call, Year: 2021 ERA-Net Transmission/Interventions One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) General focus of the call: Interventions and Transmission Societal Challenge 1: Health, demographic change and wellbeing

Proposed JPIAMR SRIA Roadmap Topics 2019-2023
Management Board Discussion
11
Ranking 1 = low priority 2 = medium priority 3 = high priority
12
Link to AMR drug development hub
Research Call, Year: 2022 THERAPEUTICS Ranking: 2.6 Optimising existing drugs or drug combinations for the treatment of infections and/or prevention of the emergence/spread of resistance caused by priority pathogens on the WHO and OIE lists, including and up to preclinical development Follows on from the 2nd JPIAMR Joint Call: Antimicrobial Resistance through the JPIAMR (projects funded ) Could involve IMI Link to AMR drug development hub
13
Include fungal research
Research Call, Year: 2023 ALL PILLARS Ranking: 3 Development of innovative, digital technologies for collection of microbiological, epidemiological, genetic, antibiotic and surveillance data for detection of transmission and surveillance of AMR in One Health settings Follow up of 2019 Joint Research Call on Diagnostics and Surveillance (projects funded ) Include fungal research
14
Include fungal research
Workshop, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE Network Call, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE Ranking: 2 Workshop: Harmonisation and technical validation of diagnostic tools bringing together researchers, industry, policymakers, regulators, insurance providers and funders Network Call: Multidisciplinary networks to address the harmonisation and technical validation of diagnostic tools Follow up of 2018 Network Call on Diagnostics and Surveillance (projects funded ) Include fungal research The ValueDx project has just started. This workshop could be organised jointly with ValueDx.
15
Workshop/Network Call, Year: XXXX THERAPEUTICS
Ranking WS: 1.8 Ranking NC: 1.8 Workshop: Linking the global users of therapeutics and non-antibiotic therapies to identify new and alternative methods to fight infections and AMR Network Call: Global capacity building programmes in the area of early drug discovery of new targets, compounds and alternatives addressing pathogens on the WHO list of priority pathogens
16
Network Call, Year: XXXX ENVIRONMENT
Ranking: 2 Identifying and developing best practices in innovative technological, policy, social, economic and regulatory approaches to mitigate the transmission of antibiotic resistant organisms, genetic elements and residues to, from and within the environment
17
Network Call, Year: XXXX TRANSMISSION
Ranking: 2 Research methodologies to better define and quantify transmission routes of antimicrobial resistant organisms and mobile genetic elements to identify knowledge gaps in a One Health context
18
Workshop, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE
Research Call, Year: XXXX SURVEILLANCE Ranking WS: 1.8 Ranking RC: 1.8 Workshop: Development of a globally integrated One Health surveillance system of antibiotic resistant genes and bacteria, and antibiotic usage with the goal of inter-sectoral coordination including the healthcare setting and community Research Call: Development of a globally integrated One Health surveillance system of antibiotic resistant bacteria and antibiotic usage
19
Network Call, Year: XXXX ENVIRONMENT
Not ranked Collection of robust quantitative and qualitative data to develop risk prediction models
20
Network Call, Year: XXXX INTERVENTIONS
Not ranked Building bridges between One Health areas to develop guidance and shared measures and standards to assess and implement interventions
21
Include the environmental impact of animal husbandry
Workshop, Year: XXXX INTERVENTIONS TRANSMISSION Ranking: 1.7 Harmonisation of non-antibiotic approaches and strategies to replace, control or minimise the use of antibiotics in early life animal husbandry Should be followed by a research call to have the impact this topic requires Introduce a working group with a focus to identify best practises in this field Include the environmental impact of animal husbandry Should be opened to southern partners Question: should it be followed by a network call? Then a research call?
22
Network Call, Year: XXXX THERAPEUTICS
Ranking: 1.6 Early drug discovery for capacity building in the discovery of new targets, compounds and alternatives There are also gaps in research on how to optimise and ease clinical trials for new therapeutics, we suggest to include these in this action. The risk of emergence of resistance to the new compounds alternatives should be considered.
23
Hackathon: Brainstorming session to find new ways to tackle AMR
Out of the Box, Year: XXXX One Health New topic Proposed by SAB Hackathon: Brainstorming session to find new ways to tackle AMR Juniors (e.g. postdocs) will organise and invite ‘unusual suspects’ (a broader audience) Travel funds should be given to young people This could take the form of workshops to address certain questions This would enhance the generation of innovative ideas and solutions Could potentially lead to a future JPIAMR action, e.g. research call, network call, workshop
