Example: Tylenol Always followed by ® (registration symbol) Generic Name: Chemical name for the drug Usually appears directly under the trade name on a prescription bottle

Form: How the drug is supplied Capsules Tablets Syrups Suppositories Ointments

5 More Terms Side Effect: Undesirable action of a medication
Examples: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, itching, dry mouth, insomnia, etc. Adverse Reaction: More severe reaction to a drug Anaphylactic Shock: airway swells preventing breathing. Pt will die if not treated
