2. Project status: the achievements (1)
A.1 SDMX: SDMX registry in place, several DSDs developed
A.2 SODI: SODI IT infrastructure working at Eurostat, tools available to NSIs, SODI environment installed in some Member States
A.3 XBRL pilot project successfully completed: tested feasibility of exploiting XBRL reporting for statistics; software for an XBRL reference environment; review of other sectoral and national XML standards on their potential to reduce the response burden for respondents

3. Project status: the achievements (2)
B.1 Visualisation: Basic visualisation tools available, plus the “Business Cycle Clock” for PEEIs (version 1 in production, version 2 in test)
B.2: SDMX Compliance of Eurostat’s web site: first contract on making metadata available has produced a toolset for reference metadata; study on e-services completed
B.3: Large Datasets: proof-of-concept tool for the SDMX dissemination of large datasets based on EU KLEMS (productivity database), pilots for the Census Hub
C.1 OSS: IG “OSS and Statistics” on CIRCA, Guidelines, Survey

4. Project status: delays and issues
A.2 SODI: delays in deployment of SODI environment at Commission data centre; short-term work-around with SODI environment is installed on Eurostat server; further delays caused by problems in the Member States to provide the data from their data warehouses
A.3 Sectoral XML standards: other than XBRL, no candidates for further work with real potential to lower response burden

5. Plans until 2009
A.1 SDMX: concentrating on the implementation of SDMX and improvement of the registry
A.2 SODI: improvement of the tools

B.1 Visualisation: Generalised version of the BCC
B.2: Compliance of Eurostat’s web site: eServices to retrieve SDMX data
B.3: Large Datasets: Census Hub (reusing largely the SODI infrastructure)
