2 Common Core Curriculum
Spelling—Pretest and Final Test Reading: Phonics Fundations: Wilson Program-learn the sound, name and helpful words, letter formation, Trick words, Reading for Information: fiction, informational text (non-fiction), close reading, text to text comparison. Writing- opinions, narratives, informational with facts from the text.

3 AR Program Your child checks out a book from our library at their level. Read it to their parents and bring back to school to take a quiz on it to earn points toward their goal. They could also read books at home. See to see if it’s an AR book and what level.

4 Math Mathematics: Teach a concept for one, two or sometimes 3 weeks.
Explore and explain reasons for answers. BT/ reteach-if students don’t understand and/ or master a concept. Enrich: explore concepts that are a little more challenging.

5 Social Studies/Science
Science/Social Studies Weekly Readers- These magazines cover both academic areas very creatively and thoroughly and the kids enjoy the videos and magazines. We will engage in Social Studies/Science activities on Day 6 or . Or early release days.

6 ParentVue grades Log in and password-be sure to log in. Paper sent last week. Can check 24/7 s are sent from synergy about school events or missing work.

7 Homework will be sent home every Monday thru Thursday
If absent, the student has 2 days per 1 day absence to make up work Spelling menu: Please have your child complete 2 activities a week and send those to school for homework check. Reading Envelopes: Twice a week your child will practice the sound of the week through small stories.

9 Class Dojo A behavior program where students can earn points for positive behavior based on immediate feedback They also realize that there are consequences but they can still earn points back for positive choices. These points earn them a bonus Friday recess.

10 AVID: Advancement via Individual Determination
A school-wide program emphasizing organization and accountability. “College Corner”- Encouraging a college bound attitude. Daily Agendas: Communication Tool between home and school. *Show video
