1 Free Kick 2 Types Direct free-kick (goal can be scored direct into opponents goal) Indirect free-kick (goal cannot be scored direct) N.B. Can never score an own goal direct from any free-kick)

2 Correct Procedure Ball stationary where offence occurred
Opponents at least 9.15m from ball Ball in play when kicked and moved Retake if above not done properly Taker not to play ball twice (Indirect free kick if he does) Can be offside at a freekick But there’s more…..

3 Freekick to defence inside own penalty area
Ball is not in play until it has left the penalty area All opponents to be outside penalty area until ball is in play If offence had occurred in goalarea then freekick can be taken anywhere in goalarea

4 Freekick to attack in penalty area
Can only be indirect (else penalty kick) Ball in play when kicked and moved Defenders can only be less than 9.15m away from ball if on goal line AND between posts Freekick in goal area – bring back to 5.5m line
