CCI Overview To harmonize Federal-Provincial relations and conform to the spirit of Federalism. An effective dispute resolution, economic planning and development forum. The cause of participatory Federalism. Anchored in a Federal concept of Inter-governmental relations. The equivalent expression is often IPC. Often modeled on the parity of representation between center and constituent units.

Constitution of 1973 Fears became the cause of uniqueness in truncated Pakistan. Enunciated full provincial autonomy. Prerogative of President or Federal government to nominate members of NFC and NEC was done away with. Constitution heralded the methods of dispute resolution through the original jurisdiction of SCP. Participatory management by Federation and Provinces in purely Federal matters. Enhanced Inter-Provincial coordination.

CCI: Functions and Composition
Current Composition: Chief Ministers of the provinces and equal amount of Federal Ministers to be nominated by PM. Functions: Making decisions about the matters mentioned in the Part 2 of the FLL. Provided the provinces with higher amount of Possibilities to protect their own interest.

Synopsis There appears to be clear continuity in certain matters in all three constitutions. The 1973 Constitution is by far the most generous document granting unprecedented powers to federal institutions like CCI. The 18th Amendment has brought about a paradigm shift in Pakistan.
