Lung cancer Lung cancer in men is falling as more men are giving up smoking, and less men are starting smoking 40% of men smoked in 1981 40% of 20’000’000 = 8’000’000 ((20’000’000 / 100) x 40) Around 25% if we draw a line of best fit

i) In 1878 the boy’s growth was most rapid at16; ii) and in 1958 the boy’s growth was most rapid at 15 Growth rate increases are probably earlier due to better health care / better diet etc… Life expectancy is the mean length of people’s lives Life expectancy is worked out by adding up the ages of everyone who dies, and dividing this by the number of people who died Life expectancy is very different in the UK in comparison to Ethiopia due to better health care / better hygiene / better diet / less fatal diseases within the UK – the UK is a developed nation with much higher standards of living than the developing country Ethiopia
