All participants in this meeting have certain obligations under the IEEE-SA Patent Policy.
Participants [Note: Quoted text excerpted from IEEE-SA Standards Board Bylaws subclause 6.2]:
“Shall inform the IEEE (or cause the IEEE to be informed)” of the identity of each “holder of any potential Essential Patent Claims of which they are personally aware” if the claims are owned or controlled by the participant or the entity the participant is from, employed by, or otherwise represents
“Personal awareness” means that the participant “is personally aware that the holder may have a potential Essential Patent Claim,” even if the participant is not personally aware of the specific patents or patent claims
“Should inform the IEEE (or cause the IEEE to be informed)” of the identity of “any other holders of such potential Essential Patent Claims” (that is, third parties that are not affiliated with the participant, with the participant’s employer, or with anyone else that the participant is from or otherwise represents)
The above does not apply if the patent claim is already the subject of an Accepted Letter of Assurance that applies to the proposed standard(s) under consideration by this group
Early identification of holders of potential Essential Patent Claims is strongly encouraged

Don’t discuss specific license rates, terms, or conditions.
Relative costs, including licensing costs of essential patent claims, of different technical approaches may be discussed in standards development meetings.
Technical considerations remain primary focus
Don’t discuss or engage in the fixing of product prices, allocation of customers, or division of sales markets.
Don’t discuss the status or substance of ongoing or threatened litigation.
Don’t be silent if inappropriate topics are discussed … do formally object.

9. Motion for TG
Move that TG approve the formation of a Ballot Resolution Committee (BRC) for the Sponsor balloting of the n draft standard with the following membership: Arthur Astrin, Kenichi Mori, Shinsuke Hara, WeiXia Zou and Liang Li. The n BRC is authorized to approve comment resolutions and to approve the start of recirculation ballots of the n draft on behalf of the WG. Comment resolution on recirculation ballots between sessions will be conducted via reflector and via teleconferences announced to the reflector at least 30 days in advance.

Scope of CMB Task Group
Draft an amendment of for MBAN (Amendment to: , 4e, 4f, 4g, 4j, 4m, 4k and 4p)
This amendment defines a physical layer for IEEE Std utilizing the approved MHz, MHz and MHz medical bands in China. This amendment defines modifications to the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer needed to support this new physical layer.

CMB Background
Wireless connectivity is already used for healthcare applications both within hospitals and in residential situations. This provides flexibility to clinicians and healthcare providers and mobility and convenience for the patients. Low Rate Wireless Personal Area Networks (LR-WPAN) are already widely being used for this. Applications include electrocardiography and the monitoring of pulse oximetry, blood pressure and glucose levels as well as other patient vital signs like respiration, heart rate and temperature. In China as in the US, LR-WPAN is part of the growing Internet of Things Industries; it has been applied in hospital areas for medical and related info communications.
IEEE Std Chinese medical devices will make use of the existing high volume applications in the Chinese medical bands.
