2 What is Dual Enrollment?
High school students earn high school and college or vocational credit at the same time.

3 Dual Enrollment Options
Part Time Up to 3 courses per semester Collegiate High AA Track: 2 or 3 years th grade bus Early Admissions Fall & spring semester of 12th grade on EFSC campus Full Time Spring Semester of 12th grade on EFSC campus Dual Enrollment Options

4 What are the Benefits of Participating in Dual Enrollment?
 Students participating in dual enrollment courses will have a firsthand experience of college level expectations.  Dual enrollment allows a student to access accelerated courses that may not be available at their high school. We spent a lot of time helping your child become competitive for college admission. Most of our students will do core at edgewood and take additional courses relating to major. This shows students have gone above and beyond what is given to them at the high school. Explain AP program and student comparison

5 Success Depends on You Managing your time wisely - no procrastination!
Completing assignments on time. Attending class regularly. Asking questions & participating in class. Working independently. Communicating with instructor. If I can look in Edline and see you have missing assignments DE is not for you If you are a student who is not participating in class discussion DE is not for you If you are a student who has difficulty talking with your teacher DE is not for you

6 Points to Consider Prior to Participation in Dual Enrollment:
 If a student does not attend a Florida public college or university that uses the same course code prefix and number, transferability of the dual enrollment credit will vary, and will be dependent upon the receiving institution’s policies. Be aware that out-of-state and private universities may or may not accept Florida dual enrollment credit.  Dual enrollment course credit is recorded as a PERMANENT entry on the student’s COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT as well as on the student’s high school transcript.

7 Points to Consider Prior to Participation in Dual Enrollment:
 Florida Bright Futures Scholarship recipients should be aware the cumulative college grade point average for the first semester of post high school coursework will include the dual enrollment credit(s) awarded in high school.  Poor performance as a dual enrollment student can ultimately impact one’s postsecondary career, including acceptance to a state university, academic standing and financial aid eligibility.

8 Bus Transportation  Am I able to secure transportation to and from the college? Transportation is not provided by the school district to get you to class, therefore you need to have a reliable source of transportation each day your class meets for the entire semester. We do not offer bussing Periods are 1 for 1 Students are not allowed on campus if taking a DE course
