4. God Prepared Us For This (v.5)
Genesis 2-3 death entered the world
Prepared us for a coming change Corinthians 1:30-31
How does He prepare us? Cor. 1: [Luke 13:3; Matt. 10:32-33; Acts 2:38]
He gave the Spirit as a pledge (v.5) 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

5. We are of good Courage (v.6-8)
Why courage? Rom. 8:15; 1 Cor. 15:56
Why ALWAYS of good courage? Heb. 13:8
We walk by faith and not by sight (v.7) 2 Corinthians 4:16-18; John 20:29
We prefer to be at home with the Lord (v.8) Philippians 1:23

6. Our Ambition: “to be pleasing to Him” (v.9)
Whether at home or absent (v.9) Matthew 6:33

We must all appear
Each will be recompensed

7. 1 John 3:2-3 Do you need to purify yourself as He is pure?
Have you obeyed the gospel?
Is your ambition to please God?
