(B) In the circulation, exogenous asparagine promotes the survival of EMT-like tumor cells from shear and oxidant-induced stress. (C) At metastatic sites, increased asparagine bioavailability induces GLUL, driving glutamine biosynthesis and facilitating the accumulation of HIF1α and MYC, which in turn facilitates the transition of quiescent EMT-like tumor cells into a proliferative MET-like state, completing metastatic colonization.
