2. What is the definition of adjective ? The simplest definition of an adjective is that it is a word that describes a noun. Adjectives describe nouns by giving some information about an object's size, shape, age, color, origin or material. For example, if someone said: “It's a warm day”, the adjective warm is giving us extra information about the noun day.
