Introduction Integumentary system : It’s a body system that covers all of your other organ systems The major organs in the integumentary system are : Epidermis . Dermis . Hypodermis. Nails. Hair and etc.

Types of tissues. There are 4 different types of tissues in the integumentary system, they are : Epithelial tissue Connective tissue Muscle tissue Nervous tissue

Epithelial Tissue Epithelial Tissue : It is a sheet of cells that covers the body and organ surfaces. It lines internal cavities and passageways, and forms certain glands.

Connective Tissue Connective Tissue : It binds , supports and protects the body parts. It also stores energy and minerals. It also have the widest variety of functions. Connective tissue also consists of 3 types : Connective tissue proper ( loose and dense) Fluid connective tissue ( Blood and Lymph) Supporting connective tissues. (Cartilage and bone)

Muscle Tissue Muscle Tissue : It is a soft tissue that varies of function and location. It responds to stimulation and it contracts to provide movements. There are 3 types of muscle tissues : Skeletal muscle. Smooth muscle. Cardiac muscle.

Nervous Tissue Nervous Tissue : It is the main tissue of the two parts of the nervous system ( the brain and the spinal cord). It regulates and controls body functions and activity. It is also composed of neurons.
