Team Mason overcomes early game struggle
Team Mason under head coach Doug Gottlieb took on Team Simien under head coach Miles Simon Thursday night in Allen Fieldhouse. It was a close game throughout, but team Mason pulled away toward the end.
In the first quarter, Team Simien took an early 10-0 lead behind a great start from Josh Woods. However, team Mason came roaring back to tie it up, holding team Simien scoreless the rest of the quarter to take the lead at to end the quarter behind a successful and-one by Ryan Webb.
Team Mason increased their lead to at halftime, mainly due to Webb who came alive and went on a scoring rampage putting up 8 straight Team Mason points to start the second quarter.
Team Mason put the game away with some free-throws and won
Team Simien’s leading scorer was Josh Woods with 16 points and Team Mason’s was Ryan Webb with 21. Team Mason’s Dennis Keizer finished with a double-double 14 points and 14 rebounds, as he was a beast on the glass.
