1 3G’s Scientists: Writing: Math News LANGUAGE aRTS:
The students will put on their detective hats and get their magnifying glasses ready to work on our Mystery Book Club unit of study. The students will read various mystery chapter books as we learn about the different reading strategies and key concepts in mystery books. We will work in small groups with other detectives to analyze different texts. Writing: The students are writing narrative essays from the third person point of view. The students will continue to work on using their writing binders and carefully editing their final drafts. We are continuing to practice all of our writing. Math News We are busy learning about area, reviewing fractions, and order of operations. It is important for each student to continue to strengthen their math facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The students continue to work hard on completing daily word problems. Please use your flashcards, games, and log on to Dream Box to help strengthen math skills each day! 3G’s Scientists: The students are so excited to begin our unit on animals and life cycles. We will be exploring life cycles of various animals. We will be using the science lab to conduct many lessons and hands on experiments including dissecting owl pellets. As we anxiously await the arrival of our crayfish, we will build the habitats and discuss the ways we need to care of them. We can’t wait to closely observe them in our classroom!
