1. Ms. Hovious’ 1st Grade Week of: April 1, 2019
No School- April 19th and 22nd
This week we are going to be identify slides, flips and turns. We will then identify patterns in a set of pictures. We will conclude our geometry unit on identifying shapes that have symmetry and their line of symmetry.
This week in reading we will read Peter’s Chair and work on vowels /ew/ and /ui/ and read and create compound words. We will also discuss character, setting and plot.
This week we will begin our weather unit and discuss the different types of weather, clouds, and weather tools. Students will have an opportunity to make their own weather tool.
This week we will begin writing a nonfiction chapter book on weather. Students are going to choose their chapter titles and begin researching to write.
