Remember God’s Nature

Psalms 103:19 “ The Lord has prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom rules over all.” Exodus 15:11 “Who is like unto you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”

Confirm His Purpose

Psalms 135:6 “Whatever the LORD pleases that he does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.”

Titus 2:11-14 “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,  teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

Ask for Daily Needs

Matthew 7:7-11 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it will be opened unto you: for every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.  Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?  Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

Repent of Sin

Mark 1:15 “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.”

Matthew 5:17-20 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. I say to you, not until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, until all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

Isaiah 1:16-17 “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.”

Forgive Others

Mark 11:25 “And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Colossians 3:13 “…forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do you.”

Ask to be Kept from Temptation

1 Corinthians 10:13 “There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

And to be Saved from Evil

1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 John 3:8 “He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Praise Him for His Glory and Power

Job 26:9-14 “He holds back the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud upon it. He has compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end. The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.  He divides the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smites the proud.  By his spirit he has garnished the heavens; his hand has formed the crooked serpent. Yes, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? But the thunder of his power who can understand?”

Romans 6:4 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Acknowledge Eternity

Revelation 21:1-4 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
