Task The aim of a field sketch is to capture what a place is like as well as what it looks like. It is not a work of art!

Draw a frame Start with the background and work forward Don’t worry about drawing every tree – give a sense of the vegetation – use blocks.

Annotate your sketch. In one colour add notes on the human uses of the landscape. In another colour describe the physical landscape.
