2. The process of answering questions
Most every question has a verb in Spanish.
If you can identify the verb of the question it will be that much easier to answer the question.
The following slides describe the basic aspects to look for when answering questions in Spanish.

3. Determining the “persons”
Chart for determining 1st, 2nd or 3rd person.

Yo= I
Tú= You (informal)
Él= he
Ud. = You (formal)
Ella= she
Plural
Nosotros= we
Nosotras= we
Vosotros= y’all (informal)
Vosotras= y’all (informal)
Ellos= they (group including at least one male)
Uds.= you all (formal)
Ellas= they (group of females)

Answer: 1st person
Example:
¿Cómo estás?
Estoy bien.

5. Q & A: Situation B ¿Cómo soy? Eres inteligente. Question: 1st person
Answer: 2nd person
Example:
¿Cómo soy?
Eres inteligente.

Question: 3rd person
Answer: 3rd person

8. Answering Yes/No Questions
When a question that does not include a question word is posed, it can be answered in three ways.
The affirmative
The double-negative
The single negative

9. Answer in the affirmative
¿Ella es doctora?
Sí, ella es doctora.

10. Answer in the double-negative
¿Ella es doctora?
No, ella no es doctora.

11. Answer in the single negative
¿Ella es doctora?
No, pero ella es (different information)
