2 Example 1:- Ram bought 36 mangoes. 5 mangoes were rotten
Example 1:- Ram bought 36 mangoes. 5 mangoes were rotten. What is the percentage of the mangoes that were rotten? Solution:- Given:- Total mangoes: 36 , rotten mangoes : 5 To find :- percentage of the mangoes that were rotten percentage of the mangoes that were rotten = After rounding off hundredths place = 13.89 Ans : Percentage of the mangoes that were rotten is 13.89

3 Example 2:- Shyam’s monthly income is Rs 12,000. He saves Rs 1,200

Solution:- Given:- monthly income =12000, savings=1200 To Find : percentage of his saving and his expenditure Let find his expenditure Expenditure = monthly income – saving =12000 – 1200 = 10800 percentage of saving 10 =10 % percentage of expenditure 90 =90 %

Example 3: In a class of 30 boys and 20 girls. Find the percentage of boys and girls Solution Given: boys 30,girls 20. To find: percentage of boys and girls Total students= =50 Ans: percentage of boys=60% , percentage of girls=40%

5 Example 4: In a class of 40 there are 25% girls
Example 4: In a class of 40 there are 25% girls. find the number of boys and girls. Solution Given: Total students : 40 , girls: 25% of class To find: Number of boys and girls. Number of girls = 25% of (∴ total students=40) Number of girls = Total students –No of boys =40-10=30 Ans: Boys=30, Girls=10

Find the percentage of boys and girls? Mohan had Rs 200. He spent Rs 120. Find the percentage of his saving.
