Research & Innovation Increasing the innovative capability
LR stands out from the other Italian Regions thanks to its leadership in the field of research and innovation. It invests in R&I more than the national average; It has 12 universities, the 30% of private researchers and the 22% of the total researchers in Italy. Moreover, biotech is an important sector for research and innovation policies: Lombardia hosts about 70 percent of Italian biotech companies and ranks among the top 20 regions in Europe in terms of biotech and related patents Increasing the innovative capability Improving the quality of life Enhancing excellence Attracting value and human capital
