1 Figure 1. The unique structures of the SCCmec type II element identified in ORSL strain CGMH-SL Figure 1. The unique structures of the SCCmec type II element identified in ORSL strain CGMH-SL118. SCCmecCGMH-SL118 compared with SCCmec type IIa (S. aureus N315, D ), SCCmec type IIb (S. aureus JCSC3063, AB ), a portion of SCCmec type V (S. aureus JCSC4610, AB ) and a portion of the non-typeable SCCmec (S. haemolyticus SH621, AB ). Sequences derived from other SCCmec elements are shaded in light grey. The conserved mecA and mecRI genes of SCCmec type IIb are labelled according to previous studies.12 Unless provided in the caption above, the following copyright applies to the content of this slide: © The Author(s) Published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. Phylogenetic relationships of the ccrA (a) and ccrB (b) genes between S. lugdunensis strain CGMH-SL118 and other staphylococcal species. The evolutionary relationship between the ccrA and ccrB genes of S. lugdunensis strain CGMH-SL118 was reconstructed using the ccrA (n = 23) and ccrB (n = 23) sequences. Numbers at each branch point correspond to 1000 bootstrapped replicates. The strain names for staphylococcal species are given in parentheses. The percentage nucleotide identity for ccrA and ccrB genes of CGMH-SL118 and other staphylococcal species were determined by ClustalW multiple sequence alignment.
