2 Licensing Information for Adobe Products
Current State Future State What’s Next?

3 Current State Adobe Creative Cloud & Adobe Acrobat DC/Pro
Licensed by install Number of Workstations w/ Adobe CC or Acrobat DC/Pro ~1,634 (installed) Cost to UTC $62, (IT Budget – UT System charge based on head count) Products we are talking about – They will be seen as one going forward (not separate any more) 2019       $62, | 2018       $62, | 2017       $67, | 2016       $53, | 2015       $53,647.39 Licensed by install (using a serialized license) – Unlimited Packaged by IT and deployed to the various workstations across campus (Employee Devices & Computer Labs) 1634, under new licensing, it would be closer to 1500 (doesn’t matter what adobe product they are using) SCCM & JAMF as well as self-reporting from some of our partners (Approx 1,500 devices have one or the other)

4 Future State Serialized licenses are no more
Named vs Shared Device License Named: License for 2 Devices (UTC owned & personally-owned computer) Shared: Licensed by Install (Shared Device – i.e. Computer Lab) Last Year Adobe Announced to UT System Shift toward UTK’s process they have been using this year. UTC Grandfathered until June 30th when the contract expires Named vs Shared Device License Support does not change. Similar to how we do O365 support

5 Future State Licenses allocated to UTC: 1,473
Yearly request by Employees Employees download specific applications from Adobe directly UTC will not distribute Adobe software any longer Cost to UTC not expected to go up this next year. But! Now we have a “Limit” Yearly process: Communicate to the campus for folks to fill out form (Process being built) Adam Nimmo to manage licensing for these product to ensure we don’t exceed licenses Campus will be covered if we do go over, im concerned at one point they will include that new head count into our numbers going forward. Going forward, if we have a significant demand for DC then we will likely have an increase in our head count, which will increase costs going forward. UT System says they will not allow any of the schools to be out of compliance, and has committed to covering us on their extra licenses they have.

6 What's Next? Current contract ends June 30th Meeting with UT/UTK
