Homework – Read chapter 19 in TKAM. Read the parts of the chapter that have to do with the “n- word.” Why should we not use it? Don’t forget to study for the vocabulary 20 on Friday.

Goals – Discuss favorite images from the book. Is there some message or meaning in them? Examine the character of Atticus use text based evidence.
Homework – Read and annotate chapter 21 in TKAM. Write a well thought out analysis of Atticus’s character; use text based evidence.

Why does Atticus force Jem to read to Miss Dubose? What does Miss Dubose gain from it? What does Jem gain from it?
