Let us discuss the second saying
According to Mr Alan ’s Lakein in his point of view, do you think that is it true if you fail to plan ,then you plan to fail?

Introduction What is a lesson plan ?
It is important for teachers to prepare a lesson outline or plan before teaching as he or she should decide what and how she or he will teach before presenting the lesson . We have received several questions regarding how to write a lesson plan we went ahead we did research and gathered these simple information to present it today to make “ inchaallah” everything clear for you In my point of view every teacher should ask himself or herself these questions What is a lesson plan ? What should the teacher consider before , while and after plannig ? What should be included in a lesson plan?

What is a lesson plan? * A lesson plan is teacher’s detailed descriptions of the course of instructions for one class . A lesson plan is an outline of a lesson shows where you start where you finish and the route take to get there it s the product of the teacher's thoughts about their lessons stages and what they hope to achieve at the end of the lesson and how to achieve it . * A lesson plan is developed by a teacher to guide class instructions * Teacher should analyse their lessons plans before and after teaching
7
What should the teacher consider before, while and after planning ?
* Teacher should analyse their lessons plans before, while and after teaching * Before plannig, teachers should know what and why they are plannig * while plannig ,teachers should consider learner’s abilities ,age , interests , available resourses ,learning prefrences , and the institutional program After writing the lesson plan teachers should check to be sure that it is well planned. They may check that the lesson communicates objectives to the learners, that it is well sequenced, has a balance of teacher and learner-centered activities, etc. After teaching the lesson, teachers should make notes on the lesson plan about what was effective, what was not effective and strategies to make the lesson more effective next time they teach it. Then they should file the lesson for future reference
8
What should be included in a lesson plan?
* A lesson plan is teacher’s detailed descriptions of the course of one class * A lesson plan is developed by a teacher to guide class instructions * A lesson plan has a specific format with three parts ( heading/procedure/teacher’s comments )

The Teacher’s comments
What worked What hindred Action points
12
Read these comments from teachers , are any of these situations familiar to you ? What can you say ?
I always write a very detailed lesson plan, and I am very strict about following it. I’ve been teaching for fifteen years and already know how and what to teach at every lesson without writing a lesson plan. I don’t like to write lesson plans, because it seems like no matter how well I plan, the lesson always changes when I am in the classroom.

Teaching frameworks
14
Today I will focus on PDP and PPU
But why PDP and PPU ???? PDP and PPU frameworks are officially mentioned in the slimming down of the syllubus on Mai 2013.
15
The three stages of a lesson
In all lessons there are three stages The Pre –teaching stage : it can be an ice breakers / games / warmers or lead in . The while / during lesson : which is split into presentation and practise / others will refer to observations / analysis and practise , in case it is a grammar lesson / a vocabulary lesson . Productive lesson stage : it is the productive stage where the lls produce their own works .
16
1- How to teach a PPU lesson ?
Teaching framework-01 1- How to teach a PPU lesson ? What does PPU stands for ? P= presentation / P= practise / U = use This framework for designing grammar and speaking lessons . It is not the only one , but is effective for helping crate lessons that are organised , coherent , and lead to a clear lesson objective .the three stages are organised in this way : The lesson begins with a warm up , built around a visual aid or a graphic organisers
17
The three stages of a PPU lesson
Stage one / Presentation :During this phase ,learners understand the context being used , the form ,meaning and use of the vocabulary ,functions(s) , pronunciation point or grammar ……… etc ,which are the focus of the lesson (awareness) Grammatical awareness can be defined as an explicit knowledge about the grammatical attributes of language In this stage teachers decide on the teaching aids to be used and convey the meaming of new material / language to strudents ( inductively or deductively ) Students need to be exposed to new language and skills in an authentic way by the teacher, their peers, or a listening or reading text. How do you present this stage ? Sample activities : branistorming / eliciting vocabularies / Analysing / noticing language in a text / using people and things in the classroom / learning a dialogue / watch and follow a model / Elicitation from learners of vocabularies they already know .
18
The three stages of a PPU lesson
Stage two PRACTISE : learners practise the grammar or speaking skills and /or the langauge components of the lesson by doing tasks which are designed to help learners increase their accuracy or correctness Here , teachers engage the students in an interchange of communication using what they have been learning How do you present this stage ? Activities begin as more controlled ( Guided practise) next they move to be free or more complex Sample activities :Repetition / coping / info gap / picture card game / matching /selecting the correct ansewers /Gapfill /Substitution or transformation drills /Listening/Reading and repeating/saying / Finding and correcting errors /Question and Answer (Q&A) /Completing a sentence ‘ see teacher guide p 62’
19
The three stages of a PPU lesson
Stage three USE In this stages students need a chance to personalize and use the new language or skill, to do something they are likely to do outside class; fluency tasks also help Ss remember the language Activities allow for student learning to be demostrated as defined by the lesson objectives How do you present this stage ? Sample activities : common activities include role plays / personal reactions / discussions / clarifications / Guessing /Categorizing /Ranking / Comparing/Making Connections /Interpreting /Problem-solving /Ordering / Sharing Personal Information / games.

2- How to teach a PDP lesson ?
Teaching framework -02- 2- How to teach a PDP lesson ? What does PDP stands for ? P: Pre-= before / D: During = While / P : Post = after This lesson framework helps teachers plan and deliver effective listening, video and reading lessons. students are motivated, engaged and active before, while and after (pre, during and post – PDP) listening to, watching or reading a text. A/ teaching reading : What is reading ? Reading is an interactive process that goes on between the reader and the text ,resulting in comprehension . Reading is an activity with purpose . A reader may read in order to get information or verify existing knowledge . He or she may also may read for enjoyment , or to enhance knowledge of the language to be read
21
The three stages of a reading lesson
A/ A reading lesson plan is made of the following steps : Pre-reading , during reading and post reading Stage one/ Pre- reading :

Stage two/ During - reading :

Stage three/ Post - reading :
24
The three stages of a listening lesson
Stage one/ pre – listening : In the pre-listening stage the teacher can do the following: Give learners a listening task to focus their attention. Check and or give necessary background information. Connect with the learners’ experience and lives. Give necessary language skills – what they need to know to understand the passage. Sample activities : Word splash . Match vocabulary to the picture . Categorize vocabulary under headings. Predict from a headline, title, group of words, pictures, etc Arrange pictures in the order to be confirmed or changed after listening to, reading the text Talk about the main topic(s) / predicting the content of the listening
25
The three stages of a listening lesson
Stage two/ During – listening : In the listening stage learners should focus on completing the task given in the pre-listening phase. The type of task depends on the information in the listening passage and the level of the learners. So they do a series of tasks which help them understand the text and which may help them develop the listening skill. The first task(s) should help learners understand the text at a very general, non-specific level. Then, tasks can move learners into a more detailed and deeper understanding of the text. Before they do each task, learners need to know what they are listening . No task should ‘test’ learners’ memory of details. learners need to check their answers in pairs or small groups before sharing answers with the whole class. Sample activities : Listen and draw Answer general information (gist) questions such as “What are they talking about?” “Do the speakers sound happy or upset?” Listen and arrange pictures or events in order Listen and find the mistakes Listen and answer detail questions such as “What did they say about Listen and point Listen and complete the grid omplete a grid
26
The three stages of a listening lesson
Stage three/ post – listening : In this stage teachers should first check learner’s comprehension and completion of the listening task and then continue with tasks with require creative application of information from the listening passage. After the During tasks, LLs need a chance to work further with the text, its topic, its content and/or vocabulary, functions or grammar used in it, OR to speak and/or write (also to read and/or listen) further based on the text . Sample activities : Discussion questions Role-plays Project (ex. Create a ___) Make and tell a similar or personal story Discuss a topic, the issue or the information in the listening script learners can collect the information they need to complete the application task
