2. Project name: BETWEEN RED AND TEAL – INCLUSIVE MANAGEMENT MODELS IN CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
DURATION: 20 months, 01/02/2018 – 01/10/2019 Within the project cycle of 20 months, a number of activities will be carried out, including preparatory, dissemination, implementation, follow-up and reporting activities. The project will target employers and workers representing chemical industry (petrochemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, rubber, paints, etc.) and will address the problem of the insufficient employee involvement in strategic decision and management processes within companies, as well as the lack of strategic approach towards the implementation of successful mechanisms ensuring the strong worker participation.
The project will reinvigorate the transnational cooperation of social partners aimed to develop joint management models based on the best practice and aimed to strengthen the extent to which workers can exercise their rights to information, consultation and participation.

MAIN OBJECTIVE:
The key objective of this project is developed employee involvement in the decisions taken within companies through strengthened mechanisms of information, consultation and participation in chemical companies operating in 11 countries.

blended training methodology and content aimed to improve the workers’ and employers’ knowledge on the participatory management tools developed;
strategic plan for implementation of the results of the project (participatory management models and further local and transnational initiatives of social partners of chemical sector in the field of employee involvement;

improved knowledge on the effective tools for improving employee involvement in decision making and the participatory management models
raised employers’ and workers ‘awareness on the effective ways of exercising workers’ rights to information, consultation and participation and the methods for getting workers involved in management processes
strengthened cooperation between social partners and academic experts;
development of inclusive procedures for cooperation between the employers and bodies representing workers for successful employee involvement in anticipating, managing and handling the changes taking place in chemical industry

EXTERNAL EXPERTISE:
This project will include a number of experts from each of the partner countries. One group of national experts will be responsible for conducting the analysis in the analytical phase of the project, the local session working sessions and the face to face training sessions, while the other group of experts will responsible only for the preparation of the training content and recommendations included in the follow-up publication. The work of the expert working group will be managed by a senior expert

11 national level reports presenting management styles and organizational models in companies representing chemical industry
manual describing the participatory management models based on strong employee involvement in decision making, (at least 2 alternative models developed -1 for multinational companies and 1 for companies operating in 1 country
increased knowledge of representatives of company level trade unions, employers and non-unionized workforce about their rights and duties related to information, consultation and participation set out in the EU directives

a package of open education resources prepared in 10 languages used within blended training module and uploaded online after completion of the blended training programme
raised workers’ and employers’ awareness on their rights and duties derived from EU law on information, consultation and participation
strengthened transnational cooperation between workers ‘and employers’ representatives in the context of shaping decent conditions for development of genuine employee involvement in decision making processes within chemical companies

plan for exploitation of the project results at EU, national and company level and for further initiatives to be taken by social partners representing chemical sector aimed to strengthening worker participation
raised workers’ and employers’ awareness of the findings of the Fitness check on EU acts in the area of Information and Consultation of Workers and the ways of their practical use in the context of improving the extent to which workers’ rights to information, consultation and participation are exercised in the face of corporate restructuring, economic changes and the challenges of modern labor market
