Technology led growth for achieving high productivity in Horticulture Reducing Post Harvest Losses and Augmenting the Production Towards Cold Chain

2 Group 7 Emphasis on establishment of mother blocks, root stock - scion bud wood bank PPP model of nursery for large scale quality seedling production Accreditation of nurseries Utilizing power of hybrid technology Promotion of high density planting Unproductive, old & senile orchards to be rejuvenated Promotion of long day onion varieties in hills – offseason Protected cultivation of high value crops Adoption of root stock technology New orchards Integration with Micro irrigation and Fertigation Use of micro nutrients in horticulture crops

3 Group 8 Post harvest losses occurring (5% to 16%) in different fruits and vegetables because of lack of cold chain. Creation of infrastructures to bridge the gap for modern pack houses (69831 units), cold storage ( MT), reefer vans (52826 units) and ripening chambers (8319 units). Integrated cold chain including pre cooling units, grading & sorting units, pack houses, ripening chamber, reefer vans and cold storages is required. Multi commodities cold storages are required to be promoted. Capacity building
