3 Making faith your own – What can prevent you?
Holding on to the skepticism of parents or peers (Luke 12:51-53; 1 Tim 1:5). Holding on to the guilt of skepticism (Matt 8:26; 26:75; 2 Tim 2:15; Psa 119:105, 130; 112:4). Not knowing how to trust (to flee to for protection; to confide in) in the Lord.

4 Trust in the Lord Psa 143:8 8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.

8 Trust in the Lord Psa 18:30 30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

10 Trust in the Lord Prov 30:5 5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

11 Trust in the Lord Prov 3:5-8 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Heb 11:6) 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

12 Making faith your own Don’t be ashamed of truth, but be prepared for controversy (Gal 4:16-17). Don’t overreact when truth is hard to accept, you may turn from it (2 Pet 2:21-22). Don’t always expect that following the truth will result in an easy life (Rom 12:1-2). Pray for wisdom & serve God w/ your current level of knowledge (Jas 1:5-8, 12; Eph 3:16-19).
