1
Prime Factorization Learning Goal: to express a composite number as a product of prime numbers DVI: 1-Complementary angles 2- Exponent
2
Factors- numbers that are multiplied to find a product.
Prime number- a whole number greater than 1 that has exactly 2 factors, itself and 1. Composite number- a whole number greater than 1 that has more than 2 factors. Prime factorization- a way of showing a composite number as a product of prime numbers- you can use a factor tree to find.

Greatest Common Factor
Learning Goal: to find the GCF of two or more numbers DVI 1-Coordinate plane 2- outliers
7
Greatest Common Factor (GCF)- the greatest number that is a factor of each of those numbers.
2 ways to find: Make a list of factors Use prime factorization
8
Least Common Multiple Learning Goal: to find the LCM of two or more numbers 1- powers 2- combining like terms
9
Multiple- the product of a number and any whole number.
LCM- the least non-zero common multiple of two or more numbers. 2 ways to find: Make a list of multiples Use prime factorization
10
Fraction Sense Learning Goal: To determine whether a fraction is closest to -1, -½, 0, ½ , or 1 DVI: 1- equal ratios 2- range
11
A fraction is: Close to 1 or -1 when: Close to -½ or ½ when:
When the absolute value of its numerator is about equal to the absolute value of the denominator. Examples: 56/57, 4/5, -7/8 Close to -½ or ½ when: When double the absolute value of its numerator is about equal to the absolute value of its denominator. -9/20, 15/31, 3/7 Close to 0: When the absolute value of its numerator is much less than the absolute value of the denominator. 3/28, 2/15
12
When comparing fractions:
You can use cross products to compare
13
Density Property An infinite number of rational numbers can be found between any two rational numbers.
14
Compare and Order Rational Numbers
Learning Goal: to compare and order rational numbers
