3. Everyone should visit the Bastion when they come to Nanaimo. The Bastion was built by the Hudsons Bay Company to protect the first settlers.

4. Coal Tyee Elementary School was named after Chief Coal Tyee. Coal Mining was very important in Nanaimo. People could earn money working in the mines.

5. Beban Park is one of Nanaimos biggest parks. It has a swimming pool and ice rink. You can race BMX bikes at the BMX track. Some kids enjoy the really great playground. It is an amazing park.

6. Bathtub races are wet for the drivers! The races happen every year. They were started by Frank Ney.
