3. Mathematics Department Goals
To offer a full complement of courses in mathematics and computer science for all types of mathematics learners
To provide rigorous mathematics instruction appropriate to student ability levels so that students will encounter challenges and experience success
To have students become mathematical problem solvers and learn to be critical thinkers as well as reason and communicate mathematically
To incorporate real world applications and technology which enhance the learning experience
To have students engage in meaningful mathematics to meet the demands of the 21st century

Please check with current 8th grade math teacher if you have any questions about placement into 9th grade mathematics courses.
Honors placement follows criteria as outlined in the student handbook (Year Average of 90+, teacher recommendation)

Live tutor online for help with selected odd problems

There is an expectation that students are able to work more independently

Students have option of dual enrollment in High School and College level course
Opportunity to earn college credit at reduced tuition
All classes take place during the normal high school day and are taught by our high school teachers
Students who successfully complete the ECE course shall receive college transcript from WCC
