1 It is Time to Practice Like we are Justified!
Paul’s points of emphasis Saved by Grace The works of grace they were doing was by the Grace of Holy Spirit working in them Paul the same man who introduced them to Freedom, is the same man now The covenant relationship supersedes the Law Our new Law is the Law of Christ – that is the Law of Love That law of love is based on Justification To live Like we are Justified – is to live by the Spirit Romans 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Therefore - chapter four. Christ “was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.” What is justified It is what separates Biblical Christianity from all other religions It is the legal standing that results from the process of “being justified.” it is not to claim that we are innocent of the crime; Rather, the term suggests that the offender has been exempted from the penalty he justly deserves We are pronounced and treated by God as righteous By just believing it our hearts and confessing with our mouth – Jesus is Lord of our Life! We have been given the righteousness of Christ Thus we are free from the death sentence of sin “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

2 What Does Living Look Like
We are free from the Old Law in the Old Testament We are free from the rules of the churches There is a new law – it is the law of love The law of love is empowered by the Holy Spirit The law of love is manifested in the Fruit of the Spirit “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

3 Law of Love God Holy Spirit Jesus Love Faithfulness Joy Gentleness
Peace Jesus Forbearance Kindness Goodness Holy Spirit Faithfulness Gentleness Self Control Joy - unfailing brightness and composure which proceeds from calm and settled principles empowered by the Spirit Peace - "to be complete" or "to be sound." (1)  as wholeness of life or body (i.e., health); (2) as right relationship or harmony between two parties or people, often established by a covenant (3)  as prosperity, success, or fulfillment Forbearance - showing patience, even though a thing is owed to us. It is holding back or restraining the self from doing something that is normal to do. It is controlling oneself when provoked or offended.  Kindness -  is the inner disposition, created by the Holy Spirit, that causes us to be sensitive to the needs of others, whether physical, emotional or spiritual. – often with some type of action Goodness - God's goodness is a bedrock truth of Scripture. in Scripture his goodness appears most clearly in his dealings with people - In Scripture goodness always involves particular ways of behaving - Human goodness is modeled on divine goodness. For human beings, goodness involves right behavior, expresses itself in kindness and other praiseworthy qualities, includes avoiding evil, that springs from the inner person. Faithfulness - Faithfulness hinges upon what we value as important combined with commitment. Gentleness – by not thinking to highly of yourself than you should and acting out in active kindness lead by the Spirit Self-Control - temperance: the virtue of one who masters his desires and passions, “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

4 Love Today Psychologist M. Scott Peck said that issues of love were at the bottom of all the problems his patients struggled with. He asserted, “The essential ingredient of successful, deep and meaningful psychotherapy is love.” Dr. Karl Menninger, a towering presence in medicine, observed, “Love cures people—both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.”  There is not enough love in the world, and where it exists, it is rarely true love that is connected to God.  There are two kinds of love, false love connected to the fall and true love connected to God. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

5 Without meaningful connections we often try to squash or silence that bitter pain of disconnection by being over-busy, over-eating and drinking, gambling, drugs, sex, retail therapy, computer games, pornography – in fact anything that alters our mood in the short term. Love – and the wonderful feel-good hormone called Oxytocin - which washes over us like a warm wave when we feel loving touch and loving kindness. It's not about who says they love you, it's about who you FEEL loved by. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

6 Love in the real World I do not do great things, I do small things with great love If you judge people, you have no time to love them If we really want to love, we must learn to forgive If you want to change the world, go home and love your family There is no greater sickness in the world today that a lack of love Mother Teresa How bold one gets when one is sure of being loved.! 12 Just Be It 6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load. 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

14 Reality Check 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

15 11 See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand!
12 Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

16 14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.16 Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

17 17 From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”
