2 Introduction In today’s world, all that we want is automation. May that be in our work or in our daily needs. Why not automation on our Personal Computer (PC) or our laptop ? Thus, came up this concept of ‘Digital Personal Assistant’. J.A.R.V.I.S stands for “Just A Rather Very Intelligent System”.

3 Overview A Conversational Personal Assistant.
It takes care of your work, daily schedule etc. You can interact with it easily using speech. Response can be seen as well as heard.

4 Motivation Hollywood movies are now serving as inspirations to young blood to push their thinking and come up with ideas inspired from the technologies used in films. Taking inspiration from one such Hollywood movie named, “ Iron Man” the idea of developing a artificially intelligent system J.A.R.V.I.S came into existence. In the movie Tony Stark developed J.A.R.V.I.S to manage almost everything in his life, especially matters related to technology.

6 Objectives Apple’s Siri and Google’s Now promise of being context aware and adapted to a user’s preferences and very distinct needs, truly personal assistants are still missing and hence this assistant is developed. Task Automation is made possible in a more user-friendly way. J.A.R.V.I.S is designed to evolve with it’s user.

7 Objectives ( Conti. ) Most of the commands are pre-defined in the system.User may add custom commands as speech input and use them as required. Reduces the dependency of users on mouse and keyboards. J.A.R.V.I.S. is a multifunctional software program that employs a highly advanced user interface with holographic peripherals and voice input, and communicates data back to its user via speech audio, holographic displays and conventional LCD monitors.

8 Generalized System Architecture

9 Working Strategy Speak something(for e.g. J.A.R.V.I.S What is the weather in Pune ?) Jarvis records the voice and matches with available commands If it is available then proper response is provided And proper action is taken

10 J.A.R.V.I.S vs Siri

11 Advantages Easy to use Can work with variety of commands
Customization of commands Helps physically challenged users to use computers Replaces traditional way of computing Remotely accessible No need to read the content we can get output via voice directly Minimum possible usage of keyboard and/or mouse

12 Disadvantages Limited language support
It cannot work in noisy environment Internet access required

13 Applications Personal Information Management
Store and retrieve addresses and phone numbers Maintain a calendar Create to-do lists and notes Software Applications Databases Word processing Spreadsheets & Internet access Controls robotic appliances, heating and cooling systems

14 Home Automation Aid for Handicapped people to use computers Access and interact on social media Jarvis assists with your daily life by acting as an Alarm clock, Informing you of the latest news headlines, The forecast of the weather for the upcoming days.

15 Conclusion Though a variety of assistants are out there in the market for smartphones, personal assistants for PCs are not that popular in our country. Moreover an additional feature of remote access eradicates the limitation of area within which the system can be accessed. User can now handle PC from mobile or other system through a website. This will help to develop an expert system of home automation which is an extended scope of this system. This can also be used for certain tasks automation and prove very helpful to users.
