Add some drops of Veritas Serum and mix well to see what happens! Potions – science linked to instructions

11 What animals belong to what continents?

12 What matters at Smallberry Green?
Talking, sharing, challenge, community, ambition, caring, fun and creativity. Why because children who are engaged and see purpose in what they are doing are more effective learners. Building great learners and having a great learning ‘mindset’! Our children can take this with them on their journey throughout life. Successful global citizens.

13 Home learning at Smallberry Green
Traditional homework is scientifically proven to have very little impact on pupils learning Research says that home learning which has the most impact on learning is practising basic skills through repetition and giving children ownership over what they are doing. Home-learning projects Spellings Reading Number bonds/Mathletics

14 How can you help at home Structure and routine.
Healthy lifestyles – food and exercise. Reading with and to your child – they still need support with this! Exposure to sophisticated language e.g. Newspapers. Out and about – life experiences are crucial – being outside, museums, parks, on the train, tube and bus. Screen time – please limit this, children need down time too. Conversations, knowing what is going on with your children, what are they learning about. They love to tell you about their days. Sewing, plasticine modelling, puzzles, drawing, colouring, dot to dots. Keeping a diary Play dates Times tables - games, reasoning, fluency – real life experiences of using maths e.g. money in supermarkets, measuring to cook, budgeting and costing,

15 Thank you! You have curious, enthusiastic, well-mannered children and we are really enjoying working with them. If there is anything further you would like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your child’s class teacher. We feel it is incredibly important that we work together to ensure that we achieve the best possible education for your children!
