2. Sharyland High School Student Orientation Block Scheduling
How is the block schedule different from the Jr. High schedule?
The daily schedule will consist of four (4) ninety (90) minute blocks and one (1) forty-five (45) minute block.
How much time will students have between each block?
Students will have a seven (7) minute passing period.
How many credits can a student earn each school year?
Students can earn nine (7 to 9) credits per year, for a total of thirty-five to thirty-six (35- 36) credits over the four years in high school.
Will students be able to participate in athletics and/or band for four (4) years?
Yes.

Only the core classes taken in grades 9-12 are calculated into the Grade Point Average ……..

Social Studies
Courses taken through Summer School, Plato, AEP, Credit By Exam or off campus programs are not calculated into the GPA

4. NHS INFORMATION
All candidates must have completed 6 Pre-AP/AP/DC classes and must be currently enrolled in at least 1 Pre-AP/AP/DC class before being inducted to the National Honor Society. (Junior Year)
