4G or not 4G, That is the Question
November 2010 4G or not 4G, That is the Question Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against an ITU press release IEEE is asking IEEE 802 to ask the ITU to revise a press release because of a dispute over the use of the terms “4G” and “pure 4G” Title: “ITU paves way for next-generation 4G mobile technologies: ITU-R IMT-Advanced 4G standards to usher new era of mobile broadband communications.” Should IEEE 802 address this issue or is The WiMAX Forum, the marketing organization for IEEE , best suited to dealing with these marketing issues? Is this is a Standards issue? Rich Kennedy, Research In Motion
