Flagellants were a group of Christians who practiced public Flagellation as a penance.
They were around in the 1340s when the Black Death was around.

7. FLAGELLANTS How did others view them. What they did.
Others thought FAGELLENTS were just strange people that liked whipping themselves.
What they did.
Flagellants went around with whips to whip themselves if they did something they weren’t supposed to.
They thought if they did it they would go to heaven.
